What does your Projector Do?
Your projector is the most important part of your headlight upgrade, because it's the part that produces your light output. A projector uses built in optics within the body of the projector as well as a glass lens to aim and amplify light across long distances. It reduces glare and provides more light output with the same amount of power than a traditional bulb in a reflector headlight.
The main projector we offer is our in-house TEQ BiLED Projector. The "BiLED" portion means that the projector has both a low and high beam function, much like a traditional H4 bulb. We have spend years optimizng this projector and as technology improves, we will continue innovating to provide the best light output on the market.
How does the TEQ BILED Stack up to the competition?
Click through here to see a side by side comparison of TEQ Customs Projectors with other headlight options. The lux reading is a measure of light intensity at a certain point. It takes into account the distance from the light source and the amount of light at that point. It is a more effective measurement of headlights than lumens, as lumens does not take into account how the light is aimed.
It is equally important to take into account the beam pattern of the headlights. We need to have a proper spread of light down the road to be able to see hazards off to the sides of the road and as we turn. We also need an even distribution of light so there is not dark spots on the road. Each picture was taken in the same enviornment at similar times, with camera settings locked for the most accurate depection of beam patterns. Finally, each one of the graphics above are a single headlight - not a pair. Output from a pair of TEQ headlights can be seen below.
As you can see, the choice is obvious. When you consider price point, the superior performance of TEQ comes with a cheaper price tag than your other high end options.
FRONT HALO ONLY BUILDS
Most headlights that have a factory headlight projector are not able to have a shroud installed and therefore, cannot have rear halos. These headlights can utilize front halos, as well as the popular Hex halos.
If your headlight has a seperate low and high beam area, it is possible to add a halo in the high beam area.It is required to add the quad projector upgrade so there is a place to put the halo.
Every set of headlights comes standard with a pair of TEQ projectors. However, if your factory headlights had a seperate low and high beam, there's room in the headlight for more.
The first option is the multi-high beam projector. This is a high beam only projector, which gives you 2 low beams and 4 high beams per set of headlights. We also offer an option with a yellow/amber lens that provides some contrast on your high beams.
The other option is the Mini BiLED Projector. Like the full size TEQ BiLED, this projector has both low and high beam function, for a total of 4 low beams and 4 high beams per pair of headlights.
