Great product hamstrung by bad instructions
"Brackets- well made, clever use of factory mount point, Front bezels nearly impossible to fit into factory trim without modification. No meaningful adjustment with factory bezels, but the initial placement is ok for stock to mildly lifted. 4 stars Lights- Diode Dynamics makes a great product. Even the "sport" output is exceptional and has a great pattern. 5 starts. Instructions/documentation: 1 star Average of the 3 items in this order is 3 stars then I'll start by saying the lights themselves are exceptional, and the brackets are well made The effort it took to engineer a good way to mount them in the factory location and keep the original trim was creative and appreciated. There's no one else out there doing this on the 4th gen. The instructions leave a lot to be desired, including poorly documenting one key measurement that will throw off the entire install. Step 4, is the big flaw in the directions. A given measurement of "Approximately 1. 5" and an off center photo of a tape measure held from the edge (I think. . ) of one hole, at an angle over preinstalled hardware is not an adequate measurement. Measure center to center on holes, and give a specific number. Take photos straight on, and use a proper tool to measure in examples. Between the "approximate" distance, and the "approximate" photo, minor errors stack up. "Turn the bumper over and clip the stock fog light bezel back on. " Oh Boy. This one minute step actually took longer than everything else put together. Why? Because I had to repeatedly try to fit the bezel over (or on, whatever) a light that as it turned out was at least a half inch too far forward on the right due to the measurements in step 4. I redrilled 3x, before settling on about 2. 1" center-to-center from the existing hole. I had to reinforce the chewed up plastic with fender washers. Squeezing the bezel around the oversize bracket with a screwdriver cosmetically damaged both and made for another 15 minutes of frustration. The instructions do not specify if it should be entirely within the bezel (I assumed it did based on product photos on the site) nor how to get them there. I finally ended up cutting about 3/4" off of the high side on the back of my bezels and calling it a day. The repeated fitting, moving, adjusting, and bezel abuse wore out the plastic tab holding the outboard pivot of the bracket and I have a small amount of vibration on that side. I resolved it by using a cotter over the pivot to pin it down. both bezels also have very loose tabs. 20 year old plastic is not resilient. Highly recommend the product, but triple check every part of the instructions."
Fog light brackets and fog lights fitment
"The lights themselves are great. The bracket could use maybe a little trimming was pretty hard to install the fog light fillers/cover broke one in the process so will be getting new ones. Need to see what’s not playing nice. Overall pretty easy to install and look great. Fitment might be user error."
