A rear bumper is a fantastic addition to any rig. Not only does it decrease your departure angle, increase ground clearance, and protect the rear of your vehicle, it also allows for the ability to add a tire carrier for a full size spare and other swingout attachments. Get that stuff outta the trunk!
The hybrid bumper from True North is a great option that keeps the weight down, and integrates nicely with the factory body lines and bumper.
This is DIY KIT. It will ship in pieces that will need to be welded together. The fully welded bumper can be found HERE
The Options
- All swingouts will include the tire carrier.
- Optionally, add a molle panel to the driver side, passenger side, or both to attach more gear!
- The molle panels are added behind the tire on the swingout. The bumper in the photos has full Molle Panels.
A little about the bumper:
- The new open hybrid design is stronger, more lightweight, and offers the best approach angle of any other True North bumper to date. Not to mention it looks badass!
- We wanted to be able to offer the best fitment possible so we took our design a step above all the other fabrication companies out there and had the front of the truck laser-scanned! This allows us to model the bumper within our cad programs using a virtual representation of the truck that is accurate to within .005 inches!
- The frame mounting plate, winch plate, and skid supports are all 1/4 gauge HRPO steel. The remainder of the bumper is made of 3/16 HRPO steel and 1.75" .120 wall tubing!
- We realized that these bumpers are going to be mounted on 20ish-year-old vehicles and the chances of each and every one of them having a perfect frame with no previous front end damage are slim. So in order to offer the best fitment possible, we made all the mounting points slightly oversized. This will give you a little adjustability when mounting. Depending on how far you need to adjust you will possibly need to use washers as shims between the bumper and the frame. New bolts and washers are included.
Info to know before you order:
- THIS IS A DIY KIT
- This bumper will not work with body lifts without leaving a gap. It will work with stock height and suspension lifted vehicles.
- There may be small imperfections on the surfaces of the parts, such as small areas of surface rust or shallow scratches caused during the manufacturing or shipping processes.
